Hey, while I understand the anxiety, I assure you that you do not have to prepare for the exam. With respect to the bare acts, there are sets that are sold specifically for AIBE, purchase one of those or look at all the acts covered in the set and borrow copies from office of those acts. Alternatively, you could borrow them from a senior who purchased the acts for the exam. The only rule is that it should be a bare act with no commentary or least amount of commentary, but you’re better off with the former, since a fussy invigilator could be a pain to deal with if you take the latter. The exam requires that you only look at the bare act provisions, read them and pick the right option. It’s a very easy exam, anyone can pass. It isn’t a college exam where you need to worry or prep for. Hope this helps you out, all the best, you’ll do okay.

If everyone thinks, as you claim, that he is in the wrong, then why aren't they (including you) taking legal action against him, or doing protests, or filing complaints with the Executive Council or the Chancellor? University admin also thinks it's fine to violate students' privacy. They responded to some other communication made by one of the SBA Presidents on an internal student group on WhatsApp with an official email??? Accusing them of misinformation?? And then the Co-Presidents as well as many students replied pointing out that there was no misinformation and then the admin went dead silent and has been ignoring all follow-ups.

Wish to add another fact. Last time when "IDIA" associated NUJS students (also senior SJA members) got assaulted by regime goons and a regime friendly Acting Registrar acted shamefully, no ex-Noojie including someone who got designated Senior Adv. came fwd or did anything meaningful.

It was a SLS-P alum who got them out and later in the Court had the regime backtrack and rein in the local Councillor and his henchmen. Of course as is wont with the regime apparatchik Acting Registrar (now a "Prof"), he had the case "managed".

But here’s the real tea: NLS Bangalore is the one stealing the show, churning out the most senior advocates in this batch, after Law Fac. It’s a sign that the legal profession, particularly litigation, is finally inching away from its safe-haven days—where clueless brats could stumble in, name-drop their way to the top, and pretend it’s talent. Let’s be real: litigation isn’t a dumping ground for trust-fund toddlers or directionless mediocrities anymore. The game is changing, and the ones who’ve got the guts, brains, and flair are rising to the top. Sure, there are a few eye-roll-inducing exceptions on this list—proof that nepotism is a stubborn weed—but they’re just that: exceptions.

And yeah, I get it. Every single NLS grad here probably swims in privilege so deep they can’t even see the surface. But can we talk about this being Delhi’s first power flex from Naagarabhaavi?

My background:

4 years into the profession. At a HC Bar which will consider me, a first-gen with NO connections whatsoever, a 'junior' for a long, long time.

Advice:

1. No one us going to look out for you. One's parents don't really, how can we expect that from others?

2. Treat people 'okay'. Don't be $#itty to them, but don't put them on a pedestal either. Treat them 'meh'.

3. Do not get attached

People lie, people will lie about having your best interests at heart. Newsbreak: they don't.

4. You'll make connections in the profession, not friends. Everyone is competing for those limited resources.

5. I don't know if you're a cut throat person. If not, be prepared to face such people. Hence the advice against getting attached. Non-attachment will protect your peace to an extent when you're eventually betrayed by someone you thought you could trust.

6. If possible, try and develop a mean streak. I am still learning, but not very successful at that. You have time, use it wisely.

Story Time:

A. I was, what I thought, friends with someone. The individual I thought of as my closest friend is one of the two children of a big shot at my State HC's Principal Bench. Mind you, this status of the said individual made no difference to me, because I incorrectly thought that the said individual trusted merit and true heartfelt friendship.

B. The said individual and their then steady date (now, spouse), and I were thick as thieves; or so I thought. I was significantly better at academics and mooting than the aforesaid individual.

C. The individual and their then date betrayed me in the worst way possible, by removing all traces of months of work I had done on the college's national event. Portrayed me as an incompetent slacker. The faculty knew the truth, but from a business perspective, the big-shot's kid was coddled, treated pretty at my cost.

D. MORAL

Don't trust anyone. Especially if they're from this profession.

First of all, I totally get how you’re feeling — it’s tough when your friend group changes and you suddenly feel like you’re left out or not fitting in. But trust me, you’re not alone in feeling this way, especially in the second year of law school when a lot of shifts happen. Friendships evolve, and sometimes it takes a bit of time to find your true circle. It’s okay to feel unsettled right now — it’s just part of the process.

You mentioned that you have friends and that you're liked in your batch. That’s a solid foundation. Sometimes, it just takes a little longer to find the people who really get you. You don’t have to have your “best friend” right now. College friendships often grow in unexpected ways, and as you continue your journey, you’ll find people who align with your values, interests, and vibe.

As for law firms — don’t worry! Law firms can be surprisingly friendly. It’s a competitive environment for sure, but most places value collaboration, and you’ll find that the people there, especially when you start working closely on projects, are more than just colleagues. You’ll meet a lot of people from different walks of life, and some of those connections can definitely turn into lasting friendships.

A lot of law professionals have close, almost family-like relationships with colleagues, especially when you’ve worked long hours together, gone through the grind of tough cases, and celebrated wins. Friendships at law firms often come from shared experiences, whether it’s late-night research, difficult clients, or just having a chat over lunch. So yes, there are definitely “friend-worthy” people out there in the legal world — you just have to give it time.

Also, keep in mind that friendships don’t always happen in big groups. Sometimes, it’s the small, meaningful connections with a few people that last for a lifetime. Focus on being your authentic self, and you’ll attract people who appreciate that. You’ve got this — the right friendships, both in college and later in law firms, will find their way to you.

Lastly, it’s perfectly okay to have periods of feeling lonely or unsure. They are just phases, and they pass. You’re growing, and that can be uncomfortable sometimes, but it’s also the precursor to amazing things. Just trust the process and stay open to connections, whether big or small. You’ll get there.

NLS, for its own good, should find a way out of CLAT and Consortium. After pathetic CLAT draughtsmanship for 2024 and 2025, I believe that nlud would have got better wards in Bo'29. If it persists, nlud's meteoric rise will be real. NLSAT is a way to go for real. If not, something drastic has to be done to up level, if not, at least maintain the standards of the question paper.

The dream for law firm-ites in India seems to be a Lamborghini, Rolex watch, 1-2 cr salary, a glamorous wife (or husband) and a flat in DLF Camellias!! 🤣 So much so that even law students and literally even CLAT aspirants now talk about becoming a partner at CAM, SAM etc and owning a flat here!

A junior from my school reached out to me today (Class of '28), saying that he had botched his entrance. He sent me his paper, and I couldn't help but notice that the Current Affairs section isn't what it used to be. In fact, the entire section felt more like an English than a true Current Affairs. The only question that seemed remotely related to Current Affairs was "What does the 'S' in BRICS stand for?". Other than that paper barely tested any critical thinking or interpretation. English was a joke and Critical Reasoning had no core concepts of conclusion, strengthen, etc. If I remember there was only one weakening question in the entire section.

It got me thinking—was the CLAT 2024 an anomaly, or is this the new standard the Consortium is going for, with the bar set so low?

Just gave CLAT 2025. Scoring from the best of two(legal edge and law prep tutorial) answer keys, seem to be getting 96.75. 99% chance for NUJS, 70% for NALSAR and 10% for NLS probably. In a worse case scenario I might be getting 94 or so if the answer keys are incorrect, in which case GNLU might be a better hope. Am I screwed? What is there to look forward to in NUJS? Will probably choose it over NALSAR if it comes to that? Best faculty/intellectual experience amongst tier 1s except NLS? Placements are similar between nluj, nliu, gnlu and between nalsar and nujs from what ive heard. Any and all help appreciated, maybe even some stuff to look forward to in the worst case scenario where I get GNLU, or in a good case where I get NUJS. Thank you so much!

Chill yaar, sab kuch comparison nahi hota. T1 waale bhi apni life mein kuch struggle kar rahe honge, shaayad unke to deadlines se badi salary ka pressure hai. Tumhara team non-toxic hai, learning mil rahi hai, aur work life balance ka kya kehna! Bas, thoda zyada validation chahiye lagta hai aapko.

Anyway, you're doing fine, but maybe next time post ke end mein "validation pls" type kar dena. Just to make sure.

team is not very popular and considered one of the hardest partners to work with in the firm. the team members are always cribbing and get underwhelming bonuses. Old school team that doesn't believe in WLB. Most former associates and partners have moved inhouse roles due to burnout.

If you are looking for Competition Law and Investment, there is no investment work. When I was interning there, I heard some researcher saying that “Investment” in CTIL is scam. Well, the work is great and depends on the mentor you got. Like got one mentor, who gave work like preparing list of panelist and stuff. But my Co-intern got a mentor who gave him a lot of research work and editing work too sometime.

Who reads? In law school everyone is treating a day before. It will be just another useless subject. They teach taxation, how many actually use it? If you're interested in investments and finance you could learn in your own. However I certainly do understand that absolutely of academic syllabus and material would better help in learning. But I think if you search enough you'll find it in the web.
