Please show where his arguments are contradiction? Please show which point seems to be funny for you? Please show where the legal inter are wrong that inclusion of IIULER is illegal as per the Bye-Laws of Consortium of NLUs?

Even Consortium in their Press Release for including IIULER does not indicate the meeting which approves the addition of IIULER, the document submitted by IIULER, the application submitted by IIULER, the seat-allotment ratio of IIULER and details of subscription fees paid by IIULER. But, when NLU, Prayagraj was included in the Consortium on October 2024, all such details where included in the Press Release by Consortium! This itself depicts the illegality of the inclusion of IIULER

Consortium very well know the inclusion of IIULER is against their Bye-Laws and "common sense" - It's the reason why they are not responding to anyone. But if a strong agitation is there from the side of law aspirants, students especially from NLUs, the President, Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and Permanent Members of Consortium will be forced to make a statement!

Did anyone know the whereabouts of two LL.M. Batch Students who paid more than 11 Lakhs per year (Academic Fees + Residential Fees at IIULER). They take LL.M. Students in the year 2022 and 2023. But none of them were placed anywhere. Even after paying India's highest LL.M. Academic Fees (6.75 Lakhs +), IIULER does not provide any Campus Placement Assistance or Internship Assistance to their LL.M. Students!

Suddenly in 2024, they did not intake LL.M. Students and for 2025, the illegally joined CLAT Consortium in order to decieve and attract law aspirants as IIULER is an NLU! The act is so shameful.

None of the LL.M. alumnus is being seen anywhere!

Yes, it's a fact. The University was established in 2022 at Sancoale in South Goa. It's situated in around 2 acres of land. There is just only one building (centralized A/C) with 3 floors. Nothing more and nothing less. Classrooms are very small. We can't even imagine how small the Physical Library is and that too without sufficient copies of books! (Please note, there is no Remote Database access at IIULER). In 2021 and 2022, before the commencement of IIULER, authorities stated that it will be build in a 45 Acres of land given by the state government of Goa. Moreover, there will be foreign faculties from top tier Universities like Harvard and Oxford. Till date, there is no foreign faculty (only 6 Indian law faculties are there - 2 Professor, 2 Associate Professor and 2 Assistant Professor)

The Moot Court hall is very small (even though sofa-like cushion seats are given to the audience). The single building of IIULER itself shows how facilities are lacking in the so-called branded institution! Many Private affiliated Law Colleges has much more infrastructure, library facilities and acreage than IIULER Goa

Did you really know the procedure of establishing a "State-Funded University" like an NLU? If so, please don't make baseless arguments! Every other people know how it works! So, don't be the one who misguide and decieve others for meeting the selfish needs of IIULER. If your statement is true, please attach the document (with link from authoritative website) [Consider it as a Challenge to prove your statement, else don't be the spokesperson to spread lies of IIULER)

If this statement (with legal proofs) are spreading hatred, how can you be a prudent person? No one spread hatred here! We are telling the facts with substantiating evidence and proofs! I challenge you to counter this unlawful illegal activity of Consortium of NLUs by adding IIULER Goa. Please show proof for the reason/necessity to add IIULER Goa (Private University) into the Consortium of NLUs! Please accept the challenge and show the proof to substantiate what I am saying is lie and fabricated!

Please don't make baseless statement! If you state it's an International University (because the word "International" appears in their title), will you call Symbiosis University and OP Jindal as International?

I challenge you to please point out the statement/legal interpretations which seems to be funny and self-contradictory! Please make sure that Law is Law. Even if you work for IIULER or not, what's happening here is illegal and unlawful! Please make sure to point out those "funny" and "self-contradictory" statements which I made. Moreover, my dear Friend, these are not legal Interpretations (my interpretations!), Please go through the Bye-Laws of Consortium of NLUs first to understand that. It's available in their Website!

FAKE STATEMENT - A Private University established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act through a Statute of State Legislature (here, Goa Act No: 16 of 2021) cannot be converted into a "State-Public Funded University" (like an NLU) without prior approval of UGC. Moreover, what you are stating is a mere lie! In India, there is no law for regulating or creating a National Law University (NLU) since it's not a Central University/Institution of National Importance like IIT, IIM, IISER, AIIMS, IIMC, IIST, IIIT etc. In addition to this, UGC has not even inspected and approved the review committee status of IIULER which was established in 2022 (Details are available in the official website of UGC)!

So, please don't make mere statements to confuse law aspirants and students. I am always stating with evidence/legislation and Gazette Notification from official government websites. I request you to please share the governmental documents/evidence which depicts that "the process for changing IIULER Goa into NLU Goa has started!" - Don't make fake statements! Know the law and be prudent before blabbering!

This is the problem with us NLU students. We don’t unite and seek accountability (whether at the intra-college or inter-college level) so the boomers do whatever the hell they want and ignore us. Then when we react it’s too late. Happens every single time.

We need to stop prioritising silly things and woke issues, and instead prioritise governance issues.

Consortium is responsible for this! The authorities including President and Vice President of Consortium of NLUs must specify the reason for including IIULER Goa. If anything is found to be illegal or Consortium acts Ultravires, IIULER Goa must be excluded from the Consortium of NLUs and new Press Release must be provided to the general public through their official website

The dilution holds true for other NLUs too including NALSAR. The campus size will be bigger, fees will be less. Faculty will be worse compared to NLSIU. Job opportunities will be similar. NLSIU alumni will provide better networking opportunities and Sudhir does ensure that the students get better exposure to international opportunities (not law firm, but other things). Pressure at NALSAR will be much less. Make an informed choice. You will do well either way if you can get into either of these two. Best of luck!

I'm unsure whether to keep NLSIU as my first preference, given its current issues, such as large batch sizes, different faculty for separate sections of the same batch, significant fee hikes, and an overfilled campus. I've also come across comments suggesting a dilution in the quality of education there. In comparison, NALSAR is starting to seem like a better option.

And by banking I mean investment bankers and a long list of capital ventures.

I have been told that it cannot be the sole reason because other states sharing borders are not doing as bad. Though not sure what other reason can exist, other than maybe vehicle density and construction. Delhi is quite green compared to other Indian cities of similar size and importance.

I am from a tier 1 NLU ,will start 6th sem in a month , above average rank,have done mostly litigation internships, one corp internship in a tier 3 firm. I want to intern with S&R , not sure if they have tie up with the placement cell. Could someone tell how get an internship there, and what extra can I add on my CV ?

I got this email from JRTC Intern saying they’ll help me land internships with top law firms, MNCs, and senior advocates in India and abroad. But they’re asking for a platform fee of INR 1,180 (valid for 6 months) to move forward and schedule some General Legal Internship Test (GLIT).

I’m a law grad currently without a job so I’m tryin to figure out if this is worth it or just another cash grab. Has anyone here worked with them before and are they legit, and do they actually help with internships or placements?

Okay so I am from a T1 NLU and had high hopes,but I messed up my 1st sem as in I am getting just passing grades in my 1st sem exams and also I am not part of any committee or society of my NLU, (I didn't sign up for any OC work earlier and now every OC work is requiring past experience,which I got none) and unlike my batchmates I don't even have any frndship or homie type relationship with any of my seniors in my college,so I don't even have access to any of the tips and tricks which seniors tell to my batchmates.

I am first gen,so got no connections in legal fraternity as well and got to know that for landing a good job u need good grades or good connections and I got none of the two.

So I am pretty worried about my future as a whole,was always an academically bright student but I have failed to perform that well here and also feel pretty left out for the above mentioned reasons.

Kindly do suggest me some course of actions as I don't want to end up like a failure and I am willing to make amends as well for the same.

Seeing a lot of posts but no real information on the hiring scene for the 2026 batch. It would be great if people from the 2026 batch could shed light on callbacks/PPOs they've received from T1s, T2s, Boutiques etc.

Only need to say two things:

1. All the comments encouraging the kid should be listened to carefully and the advice of the authors of those taken on board.

2. Those comments are the best of Legally India. From time to time, this best side of this site is seen, which is why I will keep coming back. So nice to see that not everyone commenting on this forum is out to do a hitjob on one or more of the usual suspects!

Mr mathur deals purely with criminal matters only. He regularly appears in high profile matters. I've worked with him and I can tell you he's a great guy. He cares a lot about his juniors, I used to get paid 30k plus fare every month when I joined as a fresher. Getting an intership at his chamber is quite easy you can go to his office with your cv and he'll take you in but joining his chamber is very difficult. I joined his chamber with the reference of my uncle who's himself a senior counsel. And all other juniors were from way more affluent families like kids of hc judges, politicians and rich industrialists. He has been the president of the Delhi hc bar association numerous times, that's what op must have meant by "politically affluent".

You can go for my therapist. Her name is Hiteshree dudani, she's a Mumbai based psychologist who provides online therapy. She charges around 500. I took online therapy when I was feeling very low and would surely had been depressed if not for her. I only took a few of her sessions and I felt great.

It's alright buddy, I once interned at a company even though I liked the internship and overall vibe but I quit just after a month and left without informing the seniors. And because of my stupidity I burned bridges with them. The worst part, associates in that company were really accomodating and they would have surely helped me in getting future internships, even a job. But I did it because I found it somewhat overwhelming and because I was irresponsible. No need to beat yourself over it, not everytime things go as per your plan. Sometimes we just fail.

Hey, firstly what area are you interested it?

If its a corp job that you are looking for, understand that the market is super shitty this year and its not your fault. Mostly everyone is looking for people with atleast PQE of 1 year. However, you can apply to startups or even consulting companies as a part of their M&A strategy team. You can try applying to investment banking firms as well if you have sufficient knowledge about VC funding and PE.

Connect with the partners you interned with for an LOR or a letter of referral and attach that to your CV while sending out your application. If you want to work with firms, apply to Lexygen, Boolean Legal, Anagram, ThinkLaw, these are boutique law firms and they might consider hiring. Wait for the end of the year and if things still dont work out, go for an MBA or inhouse jobs. Sending cold emails do help to an extent, however, receiving no or generic responses has been the trend this year. Try contacting the PA or secretary of the partner (my friend did that and now she is a paralegal at CAM). Lastly, keep following up once in every 2 weeks. Few firms you can apply to for corp jobs-

I'm a non-delhiite, who continued to live here after completing college in 2014. I really like my job, and almost everything else that this city has to offer -- but the pollution gas chamber situation of the past few years and now expectedly, this year too, is making me want to leave this city for good. Though it feels like a harder decision because law as a field feels so local/regional. And as a hindi/english speaker, & a first gen lawyer, no city feels viable (either financially (mumbai is so expensive??) or language-wise (bangalore/kolkata/pune/hyderabad need local language skills)). Point being - i feel stuck now. Living here is depressing. The weather is pleasant but we are directed to being indoors at all times. What is the point of living like this? Does anyone here feel stuck like this!
