While this is an extraordinary achievement and it is out of the ordinary for NLS to not have a Rhodes for so long, this is a very disappointing take. The people who have won it from other NLUs are equally smart. You come across as very dismissive of other peoples' achievements. This is not worthy of an NLSIU student or alumni. You should unreservedly and publicly apologise immediately, identifying yourself by name. That would be the truely ethical thing to do in these circumstances.

What an absolutely ridiculous take. An opportunity is an opportunity, regardless of who it's named after. Also renaming it at this stage will be an erasure of the scholarship's history which its scholars should know and seek to rewrite. If you want to criticise anyone criticise the trust for continuing to offer disproportionately large number of scholarships to people from white imperialist countries and a glaringly small number of scholarships to students from the global south. You should NOT be going after students who accept opportunities that ordinary people can only dream of.

If it is the former, do they have a greater likelihood of offering PPOs to law students?

I'm a bit younger than most of my peers at a tier-one NLU, so I'll be graduating earlier than many of them. That’s partly why I thought taking a gap year or delaying my career path wouldn’t be a major setback. I’m not burned out, but I’m beginning to realize that law might not be the right fit for me.

Now, in my fourth year, I find I have no real interest in corporate law. I have a minor fascination with a niche area of law that offers lower pay and doesn’t attract recruiters on campus. Would it be damaging to my career if I chose not to participate in placements and took some time off instead to decide if I even want to continue with law?

Basically the title. I want to quit law firm and go in-house for work life balance. However, I want to go to a field which has work life balance as long with the good amount of money in the long run. Basically, IF POSSIBLE (I KNOW IT'S HARD) earn equivalent to a salaried partner in the long run. However, work life balance is first preference. I think an in-house funds lawyer might be a good idea for this but the vacancies for the same is very limited. From what I know Cam has divisions within General Corporate: so basically public M&A, PE+VC, Employment, Corporate Advisory all come under General Corporate. Then there is Banking and Finance+ Project Finance, Disputes, Cap markets, and TMT.

Please advise me on what rotation to take up for ending up in a well paying in-house as soon as possible.

I will try to make it through 2-3 or 5 years but my seniors whom I know are really good are struggling. I don't know if I can put these many years. So which teams are best for it. From my limited exposure I am thinking of M&A, PE-VC and Employment as good rotations for going in-house, with ending up in M&A at the end after 3 rotations. Is it a good idea? Should I try Banking and Finance considering in-house jobs in banks?
