-Pretty much every A0-A1 works in an environment that can quite easily replace them with a metric pass clerk who knows how to use SCC/format documents.

No one in the legally industry really cares all we do is pretend. We see countless posts on LinkedIn from lawyers about the bad pay for freshers but none of them act on it they just agree that there is systemic problem heck even the CJI said freshers should be paid but didn’t take any action towards it. The whole legal industry just pretends.

quality legal education is unreasonably high keeping in mind that there are no guaranty of decent placement even in top nlus unlike in engineering colleges. Like some colleges are asking approx 10l per year this fee doesn't justify even at the end of the day you get placed. keeping in mind the whole batch will not get placed

Bhoumick is one of the best to work with he is calm composed progressive and has excellent knowledge in his field, which are exceptionally great qualities to have…. He is positive in his approach and even his team reflects the same… he moves forward with his team in unity which is a great attribute. Excellent partner and team to work with.

Saraf disputes will be down to half its size. They will find it very difficult to replace Manmeet. He is the 4th from the Luthra set to exit after Gayatri (IP), Sachit (real estate) and Murtaza (capital markets). There is news that post Murtaza’s exit to Trilegal, the partners were asked to sign new contracts which were quite onerous and one sided and Manmeet and his team refused to sign up to those. This reminds me of the time when Mohit Saraf had introduced three year lock-ins in the associate contracts at Luthra which required the associates to claw back 40 percent of their retainers if they left before three years.

Having worked with the team for over 3 months soon after graduating, my assessment is as follows:

1. Electricity partner (Delhi NCR)- Has a small vertical of one associate, who prepares most first cuts, which are then reviewed by the partner. He mainly has discom clients. The volume of the work is good but quality could be better.

2. IBC partner (Delhi NCR)- He mainly works on IBC mandates. Almost all associates, except the ones who directly report to Manmeet/electricity partner/Mumbai team, work under him. The associates staffed in his vertical complain about lack of legal inputs / guidance coming their way from this partner. Many have complained against him in the past but he always got off scot free.

3. Disputes partner (Mumbai)- Although I barely got the chance to work with him, I heard that he is a kind person to work with. Not sure about the team composition now but during my time at Saraf, there was only one SA under him. His vertical was doing the Byju matter, as per B&B.

If you're planning to apply with this team, try working directly with Manmeet. His inputs on the matters are genuinely omniscient. He is respected in the industry and has a good clientele. You will learn much better with him.

Right now i am a practicing advocate at an high court since last one year. I just filled CLAT 2025 form. I guess right now i am seeking something more in this profession.

1.Would it be worth it to leave practice for a year and get a LLM degree from a NLU?

2.Would it be better if i do it from abroad?

From what I know it was an aggravated case of ragging ( that's what people are saying)

I was in that fest and people told me that the students of GNLU were trying to escape the investigation ( they booked their tickets on the same night of the unfortunate happening ). everyone in that room was giving different statement. I hope this is not true, but apparently, the people in that room brought him back up the stairs to the same room ( apparently, the police found blood stains there) and had the audacity to sleep in the same room with all those stains. when the police came they appeared like nothing happened. Also, apparently, the police were informed by the OCs, not the GNLU students. IDK, this is depressing, and I sincerely hope this is not true, but what is true is that this was no suicide. May god give strength to his family and may he rest in peace.

Insecure of what? Not working in real estate practise or M&A. What exactly is real estate practise? Briefing RERA lawyers? Lmao, If anything, law firms exist for the rich clients and you guys serve them.

People in every profession work hard, it's not limited to you law firm coolies. What matters is the output. You work for the rich and help them get richer. We advocate serve the society. Its we who stand between the common man and the police. We are the ones who help people in every step. Police don't even register an FIR easily if not for a lawyer. Its us who get people's justice by performing in courts. Not you guys. So we have every right to discard you people.

In short, you're not a real advocate brother, you don't practise in court and you work for a toxic law firm which adds no value to the lives of a common man. So don't masquerade as one.

There is no need to ratto- fi everything. I am assuming you may be from science or commerce background. But anyways most people face a little bit difficulty in writing long ass answer which usually requires in law some tips from my side although I am not any pro.

Most people might not agree but no. of pages filled matter( depends on the teacher also)

If you understand the concept just write in your own words with few technical jargons

to increase the length use as much example as you can

Start your answer with introduction and end it with conclusion

there is no need to remember case laws for everything and also try to identify some common case laws which can be used in different sections

you can also asks your teacher for help by writing few sample answers and tell them to grade it gradually your skillset will increase.

Straight to the point, I do not know jackshit about writing in lawschool exams. I understand concepts, i read them but i do not know how to write them in the answer sheets that will fetch me marks, and I also don't know how to ratto-fi everything in the syllabus. Tier 1 SA here. Have seen people who don’t perform get given extended probation periods followed by news that their probation wont be confirmed. It is less rare but some people who have been working for 1-2 years be told they’re being put on PIP, which eventually leads to firing.

As an intern, unless you're exceptional, no one would care enough to be rude to you. Constant abuse doesn't mean curses. It's a lot of things which you'll only see behind the retainer. (I hope you don't) My friend was literally told as an A0 that you have a phenomenal urge to learn, but we don't have the time for it, buckle up or fall down.

So your argument that NLS Faculty are in a different league altogether has now boiled down to evidence that they are in the same league as NUJS faculty, but a few points ahead in one metric, while behind in another? Now that's a different argument altogether. But then you say that you believe that projects don't lead to publications, which is further undercutting your argument that you know anything about how academic research works. In addition, QP is not about the 'number of publications' but the quality of publications including indexed publications. It seems to be quite reasonable to assume that faculty and researchers of better quality will produce better quality publications, isn't it?

I'm stuck in a situation where I joined a chamber here at lucknow and the senior neither pays me nor even lets me file vakalatnama in his cases. All I do is read files and draft somewhat bits his son gives me. Also since he got a son I get no opportunities to appear in court. I want an out.
