That youβll have to do on your own. So while you have a job, use that leverage to reach out to folks and ask for an opening in their team in different practice area.
Seniors tell me if I want to switch, I should now only because 1 year down I will be too deep into my current work. However others suggest that I spend at least 1 year at the firm to make myself more marketable to say recruiters etc.
What advice is actually good? I am looking to switch IMMEDIATELY.
The work there is a barren wasteland of unending monotony, stripping away every bit of intellectual engagement and joy. You'll be engulfed in a relentless cycle of third rate template-driven drudgery, surrounded by a sea of despondent colleagues who have long surrendered to a grim existence at the mercy of their overlords. The psychological toll is severe, leading to a profound loss of personal identity and well-being. The bleakness and soul-sapping nature of the work management makes this team a nightmare from which you should flee at the earliest opportunity and thank you stars with profound sense of absolute gratitude each day, each minute, that you don't work there.
Hence this won't serve the purpose. It was helpful till it was discrete and limited.
mark my words, after his retirement, he will go to harvard as something emeritus & will preach daily about morality.
Run.
-A victim A0 who got no choice but to become a paper pusher at office of younger Cyril brother. :) (if you can help me find a litigator who can give 50% of my current salary, I will put in my papers to join them.)
just speak it, she wont repeat it next time.
Having said that, it would be interesting how to multiple leaders in CM practice, in addition to the TOP BOSS, work in tandem. Somehow this takes me back to the Greg Chappel - Ganguly Era. Everyone felt that its a match made in heaven but it turned out to be,,..!
Its all precedent based work, some call it as 'glorified clerks'. You get paid to not use your brains, just focus on connecting one dot to another and ensure that you don't miss out on any dots, the work is done. GC/PE/M&A Associates / SA can work in Capital Markets but not vice-versa.
In simple terms, much like a factory setup. The Managing Director (MD) / Partner (in our case) sources the work (nowadays, even they are working on the document), and then associates (the laborers), along with senior associates and principal associates (the supervisors), are tasked with executing it in a systematic, consistent, and mechanical manner. This process follows a predefined structure, with no room for deviation from the standard, typical of the Capital Markets
If there is any deviation, Bankers will have to get an internal approval from their compliance or an informal dialogue with SEBI, as the case may be. Therefore, the work is mundane, laborious, clerical and mechanical.
Never heard of that.
Even at A1 position??
I have seen him and indeed he is very knowledgeable. A very humble and jolly person to talk to.
I have an interview scheduled for the position of Associate at ICUL. It would be of immense help if anyone could help me with it.
Thank you
Also what are other major companies or law firms which hire from lower ranked nlus?:)
Also it's ipr focused, quantity of work is really less and not good.
Please note UGC guidelines to have multidisciplinary but not limiting one.
I sincerely wish getting a job at BCG was as easy as being on the recruitment committee and pulling strings. It does not look good on anyone to reduce someone's work, as done here. I could understand if this was a generic statement about placements, but no, this is equivalent to outing someone's work for what it wasn't. Regards, ex nalsarite
