But these kids are quite ignorant and are being unfair to Menaka. Yes, there have been cases where lawyers have turned down clients. One famous example is Soli Sorabjee, who turned down Union Carbide. But it's purely a subjective moral choice, not an ethical one. You can represent evil people and still be an ethical lawyer (e.g. it was Fali Nariman who eventually represented Union Carbide). So we need to prioritise logic over snowflakery and give these Kpop kids a reality check.

I do agree that Panag and Babu came but the fact is that they only hired one person, that too for a long term internship, and ironically that one candidate was already a long term intern there.

More than 45 people appeared in the interview for Panag and Babu for only one position and that too was already pre - determined. As for other companies/firms, barely one or two people are hired for 40-45k package. EY hired 4 people from my batch but again, they all were in some quasi legal role.

Yes that's exactly what I'm saying. Because the person in the village is not being discriminated against because of his income, he's being discriminated against because of his caste identity. The ones discriminating them doesn't care about the income because they see them below then anywhich way.

Now, there is another concept of intersectionality, there are layers of discrimination, one a clear one being of poverty, but affirmative action is not the solution for that, there are other poverty alleviation schemes by the government from which the rich Dalits could easily be exempted. But the scheme which is made for removing discrimination cannot have income as a determining factor

Because statistically, people from sc st communities are so far behind in terms of education and opportunities that there are not enough of them filling the forms and qualifying for those seats and thus the seats go vacant.

Now you would think that if they're not able to crack the exams then they don't deserve it, but that's not the case. Most of them are the first generation to even get formal education to this date, they are amongst the poorest in the country, the lack of resources in all terms is way high.just because all of us know that one rich sc st person doesn't mean the entire community is rich. You can literally just look at the govt data and see the percentage od people even able to get proper education.

Now the point about the president's son, the thing we need to understand is that a Sc/ST person doesn't get discriminated only because they don't have the money or the resources, they get discriminated even after having all of that because the oppressor communities don't care about how much money you have in your bank account, they hardcore believe that they are smaller than them and this deserve less.

Simple Google search will take you to multiple articles showing Dalits in power being openly oppressed by the uc communities. A dalit sarpanch was paraded naked by the uc people in the village just because of her caste identity, it didn't matter to them that she was a woman in power and she had decent money as well.

I think you're suffering from burnout and it may be workplace related rather than law related, since you said you enjoyed law while studying and interning.

Look for other opportunities, in other dispute teams and even in senior advocates offices. There are many seniors in Delhi NCR who pay well (search LI archives). I think with a change of scene you will pick up again.
