Re the protests, just watch any major news channel. All are live-streaming it. The stadium is next to NUJS. IMO India Today is giving the best coverage.
Moderator: In the interests of student safety, I would request all threads on the Abhaya case on LI to be taken down for 48 hours. You will see from the second link that a very famous and senior doctor, Dr Kunal Sarkar, has been summoned by the police today for his posts on the case on social media. The police are trawling the internet and sending summons, so please take the posts down for 48 hours only. My hunch is that the Cal HC will be approached to strike down the police action: let's wait till then. If Dr Sarkar can be summoned anyone can be summoned.

Imane Khelif and ▮▮▮ coaches were given these tests and the IOC was notified of the tests as well. That is why ▮▮▮ was disqualified from previous tournaments. ▮▮▮ could have appealed and taken a simple cheek swab to put the whole controversy to bed- but ▮▮▮ didnt. ▮▮▮ has threated the IBA from making his tests publicly available citing medical confidentiality- if I were in that place and a simple cheek swab or releasing test results could shut up all the people "harassing" me by tweeting mean things like "▮▮▮ a ▮▮▮"- I would do that. If the IOC wanted to demonstrate they saw value in protecting womens sports- they would have tested all competitors.
But Khelif decided ▮▮▮ didn't care about whether it was safe for other women or fair, ▮▮▮ wanted to beat ▮▮▮ and get a medal for it so thats what ▮▮▮ did. ▮▮▮ coach claimed ▮▮▮ had XY chromosomes because that's what happens to women who climb up and down mountains a lot. I know you want to live in a world where men can be women and that somehow is supposed to lead to utopia. But it won't. Unless women's sex class-based rights are protected there is no utopia to be found. You can do all the word magic you want- adult human females will still exist and still face sex based oppression. Why are you so keen to destroy the sex category? What bothers you about the word "woman" and "female" having a coherent definition? Why do you feel so bad for men who feel "excluded" from being female that youre willing to throw every right and norm of public decency women have managed to fight for?
Its not a sign of a good teacher if they care more about their popularity and their image than they do about doing the right thing for their students.

And this is just one part of it. Imagine an entire semester with 60 working days. We're 30 days in, and what have we faced? Bugs, worms, metal nuts in the food – and yet, the administration has done nothing. Despite complaints, we are forced to eat that food because the administration refuses to take action. Attempts to address this via official mails are blocked. Students who try to raise concerns get silenced – they don’t want us united. This stifling of communication violates our rights under Article 19(1)(a).
By allowing more flexible curfew hours, the university would be fostering an environment where students are entrusted with the autonomy to make decisions about their own schedules. This trust is essential for their development, as it encourages students to exercise their judgment and understand the consequences of their choices. They learn to balance their academic commitments, social life, and personal responsibilities, which are critical skills for their future professional and personal lives.
Moreover, rigid curfew hours can often feel restrictive, leading to frustration and a sense of infantilization among students. This can negatively impact their overall university experience, as they might feel that their freedom is being unnecessarily curtailed. Extending curfew hours respects their need for independence and acknowledges their ability to take care of themselves.
Moderator, stop whitewashing the indefensible.
Some are claiming that other elite national universities IIMC and IITKGP are protesting, but I have personally not seen any evidence on social media which confirms that IIMC and IITKGP students are involved as a student body (as opposed to posts in their PERSONAL CAPACITY). Only state universities seem to be involved, like JU, Presidency, St Xavier's College and medical colleges.
I am especially making this request to first years because they are rumours that they are planning some type of action. Guys, please do not take any action without consulting your seniors first. Learn the difference between PERSONAL CAPACITY and using names and logos of the college/SJA.

Any info on the PPO process will be extremely helpful. Also do they only handout PPOs to RCC peeps or do they consider individual applications or does it even make a difference if your performance is good.

GPA is the only problematic thing in Symbi since it has some comparative kind of GPA, which keeps no room for two people at the same GPA / CGPA and people who knows about this system will be at the top of the game. Hearing this NLU v Symbi debate for more than a decade now. Nothing matters if your family have got money.

Of course, the guy I am talking about may have worked very hard in his firm, but I can't imagine him doing work that is very cerebral in nature. So I think the "glorified clerk" stereotype is true. In fact, I don't think the fuss about caste/NRI reservation in law schools, or Jindal/GLC students grabbing jobs through jugaad, really matters. Merit and intelligence may play an important role in science and medicine, but I don't think someone with low intelligence and academic ability will necessarily do badly at a firm. If you can do basic clerical tasks and speak English well, that should be enough.
Happy to hear counter-arguments.
Also, can you please lmk how many interns AZB takes every month and how is the PPO scene in the BLR office? Also how was your PPO process like - did you have interviews or presentations? How did you network with partners, associates etc.? How did you prepare for the internship, interviews etc.? Also does AZB hand out PPOs only from interns who have got in through their college RCC's or individual applications as well?
Is it a good idea to start a law career at Big 4 and then eventually move to tiered law firms?
