Could someone provide insights on their work culture (rating its toxicity from 1 to 10), which offices are preferable or to be avoided, and information about their teams, especially in the International Dispute Resolution practice? Hello everyone. I needed some advice and opinions as i have an important decision to make by tonight. I am ▮▮▮, a first year student studying in B.Sc LLB. I had applied to NLIU Bhopal’s BA LLB course, and according to the merit list released today I will get in through spot counselling provided I report to NLIU on the 10th August. Should I take the BA LLB course up at NLIU given that its an older and tried and tested course and also they have better infra, campus and as the bsc course here is still in its infancy and nothing is sure about it yet. I’m really confused, I was a commerce student in 11 and 12 so I don’t even have a science background. Which would be the safer choice right now? Pls advice. 😭 + im really sick of kolkata weather already

None of the options you have suggested are worth it. The order you should choose if you want to go to law school in India (and this is the only correct order) is:

1. NLUs (mostly): NLSIU, NALSAR, GNLU, NLUJ, NUJS, NLUD (the order in which I have named these unis shouldn't indicate any opinion on ranking).

2. GLC.

3. ILS.

4. Jindal.

That's it. End of conversation.

How on earth can Prime Minister Modi be held accountable for her exceeding the 100-gram limit? This blind support for Phogat has overshadowed the very essence of sportsmanship, which, in my view, is a travesty.

Here's my take: she opted to compete in the 50kg category to gain an edge, despite her history in the 53kg category.

How is she any different from Lia Thomas?

Even Gopal is now a wrestling expert, is it? Time for you Modi bashers to accept a few facts:

- Phogat chose to compete in a lower weight category, with a goal to reduce weight in just a few months. It was a big risk.

- Weight issues are common in such sports. The onus is on the athlete.

- Had she not been protesting, she could have prepared well and tried for her normal category.

- She turned down help from the WFI and stubbornly took her own staff.

- The American girl (who won gold) gave a statement saying she too lowered her weight, but did it over a 2 year period.

If you see Sonali's linkedin it says that she has specialized in subjects such as gender and human rights during her LLM and also during her professional career. Why can't she be allotted this subject then? I don't see any reason. Why is she shying away from teaching the same subject which she specialized in?

Now NFSU only needs to hire some excellent faculty. Or even moderately good ones. They should offer a higher salary and poach people away from places like NLSIU, Jindal etc. So far they haven't hired a single good law teacher, despite the locational and financial advantages. One wonders why. Of course, the director herself isn't that good, so it's unlikely that she can attract good talent by herself.

Jindal has seen the highest number of placements across all law schools! On DayZ, tri took 12, CAM took 14, AZB took 6, SAM took 5, Khaitan took 5, Argus took 2, and Saraf took 1. Moreover, around 35-40 PPOs have been offered across these T1 firms.

For anyone still following the story. Vinesh Phogat was disqualified because she was 100 gms over weight- thats how strict the weight criteria are for combat sports like wrestling and boxing. They weighed her twice over three days to make sure she didnt have a weight advantage over other competitors. But an XY male is not subject to any testing - not even a simple cheek swab if he has F on his passport and says hes female. Even if other sporting bodies conducted two lab tests that showed XY chromosomes. No genetic or biological disadvantage is supposed to be the limit. Because women have to be perfect to compete in the correct category and no man can be disqualified from competing in the female category.

People love bringing up Michael Phelps at this point and saying he had genetic advantages. Yes. And if 50% of people had those genetic differences there would be different categories in swimming. 50% of people in the world have a genetic and biological advantage over females because they are male. and the Female category was created to allow women to compete. And we dont protect that category anymore. Women will get killed and hurt because of this.

Why should they? What's it of any business of yours? NUJS policy has always been to reveal recruitment stats after the year and placement process are over for the batch. As it should be, despite the foolhardy PR that students from some other universities have been doing on social media including LI.
