Surveillance is not the answer. The current admin fails to realise this. They've taken precipitative, dictatorial actions against students in the past (mostly because of hurt egos) which they had to roll back after protests from students and alumni. The fact of the matter is that the current officials in charge do not know how to administrate.

I would not recommend leaving your stable job for this company. They lack a solid HR policy and have a history of asking employees to leave at any time. (Even within 10 days of joining the company)
My main goal is to land an in-house job, as I have seen my friends struggle in tier 1 or 2 law firms, having no life apart from work and facing health scares due to the stressful lifestyle. Pursuing a CS qualification seems like an easy way out, as it will add some credibility to my CV despite the lack of corporate internships. Moreover, if not in the legal department, I might secure a job in the CS department of a company.
I really don't know if I am building castles in the sand or doing the right thing, but it seems like my only option.
