Alba acts for original Keventers milkshake brand owners on opening first original, not fake, Delhi outlets

Alba Law Offices advised Supermilk Products – the owner of the Keventers brand of milkshakes – on its structuring, company formation and documentation for the opening up of its franchise outlets in Delhi.

Alba founder Mitali Yadav with senior associate Abhimanyu Singh acted for Supermilk.

The Keventers brand was acquired by RK Dalmia, in 1940, from Swedish dairy technologist Edward Keventer’s estate. However, in the 1970s the land on which the dairy stood in Delhi was requisitioned for the Diplomatic Enclave, following which several unauthorised standalone outlets in Delhi offered pre-mixed shakes under the brand name “Keventers”, reported the Business Standard.

Dalmia’s grandson Agastya Mihir Dalmia has now however made a stab at reviving the original brand’s legacy by forming a company and opening Keventers franchise outlets in five locations in Delhi, with a plan to open 30 more, according to the BS report and Alba.

The much famed “Keventers” outlet in Delhi’s Connaught Place is also an unauthorised outlet and not owned by Supermilk or the Dalmia’s, Alba told Legally India.

Interesting.
So the keventers I know as "original" and only is now "unauthorised"
Because there is a second one claiming somewhere else is giving out franchisees ?

TM suit over the CP one ?

On another note, interesting job mitali. Wish you all the best for future too.

Connaught Place outlet was never the original Keventers. Other than the said outlet, there are several others misusing the brand. Suit has been finalized in some cases, and ongoing with respect to others.

Thank you very much for your wishes. Cheers.

Did they win an injunction against someone yet?? i fail to understand the relevance of the story since no value addition is there. unless alba gets some positive order/injunction and the CP one closes, that definitely would be a much better story.

Wouldn't you agree on that Kian.

OOh well, seems all lawyers intend to promote themselves with nothing in hand.

PS: Legally speaking wont Keventer take the defences for delays, acquiescence and similar legal arguments. Just saying..
