$10m HDFC buy of Good Host Spaces draws in SAM, Tatva, Argus

HDFC has bought a 25% stake in student housing venture Good Host Spaces from Manipal Integrated Services, for Rs 69.5 crore, reported Deal Street and others.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas acted for Goldman Sachs and Good Host Spaces, according to its press release, advising on shareholders agreement, termination agreement for existing shareholders and share purchase agreement. The team was led by partners Mithun V Thanks and Anuj Bhasme, principal associate Anjali Menon, senior associates Gaurav Dugar and Nishant Sharma. Also advising on real estate aspects of the deal were partner Ashoo Gupta and principal associate Daryush Marfatia.

Tatva Legal partner Manav Nagaraj and partner Bhargava KS with associate Smita Rakshale acted for the seller, Manipal Integrated Services.

Argus Partners managing partner Krishnava Dutt and partner Adity Chaudhury for HDFC.

How funny! You report more about the seller and the company’s lawyers who probably did the least amount of work than the buyer's counsels who would have done the maximum work. Getting swayed by the bulge bracket and big law names, eh?
