Bharucha, SAM act on Idea's $500m Videocon state telecom buy

Bharucha & Partners advised Idea Cellular on its Rs 3310 crore ($500m) buy of Videocon’s Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat circle telecom spectrums, reported the Economic Times. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) advised Videocon.

Bharucha partner Alka Bharucha, senior associate Siddharth Manchanda, and associate Ayesha Bharucha acted for Idea.

SAM executive chairman Shardul Shroff, partners Vidyut Gulati and Asim Abbas and senior associate Kushal Sinha acted for Videocon.

This is India’s first telecom spectrum trading transaction since the notification of Guidelines for Trading of Access Spectrum by Access Service Providers by the Department of Telecommunications on 12 October 2015, according to the press release.

Silly comment. I am part of an in house team who has worked with Bharucha & co and have seen their impressive client list (we asked a few firms to submit their credentials to us). I guess I can't blame you as they apparently don't believe in advertising their deals / clients. They've acted for Twitter, Reliance, HSBC, other names that I can't recall right now...

Anyone who has worked IN Bharuchas knows that Reliance is hardly a client. they only come for small opinions or smaller parts of larger deals (WHICH IS advertised by bharuchas as being their deal) being handled by other firms. HSBC WAS a client. Twitter, yes i agree that one deal.

Vidyut has quit and so has Anubhuti. Why is LI not covering SAM partner exits.
