“Global consulting firm Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., has acquired online assessment platform Mettl for an undisclosed amount, the Gurugram-based company said in a statement on Monday,” reported Mint.
J Sagar Associates (JSA) advised Mercer Consulting India, with a transaction team comprised of joint managing partner Shivpriya Nanda, partner Daksh Ahluwalia, and associates Adhiraj Gupta and Priyanka Murali. Employment-related aspects were handled by partner Minu Dwivedi and associate Tanisha Bhatia, while open-source software issues were dealt with by principal associate Zain Pandit and associate Tanisha Bhatia, including use of derivative and modified source code and use of Aadhaar e-kyc data by Mettl. Tax aspects of the deal were advised on by partner Kumarmangalam Vijay.
Khaitan & Co advised the existing, selling investors Kalaari Capital and Blume Ventures, led by Mumbai partner Vineet Shingal.
Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas partner Amit Khansaheb advised the selling founders and Induslynk Training Services Private Limited, led by a team of partner Nikhil Sachdeva; principal associate Abhishek Dubey; and associate Mayank Malhotra.
According to JSA’s release, Induslynk Training Services Private Limited operates under the brand name Mettl, and was established in 2010. It has been a fast-growing talent assessment provider, having built a scaleable proprietary technology platform.
