K Law, CAM act on health supply chain platform Aknamed’s $35m buy of Vardhman Health

Hospital-focused supply chain platform Aknamed… said it has acquired Vardhman Health Specialties for USD 35 million (over Rs 250 crore). The transaction enables Aknamed to further promote excellence in the delivery of healthcare essentials, with an enhanced pan-India footprint with leadership in therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunotherapy and virology, Aknamed said in a statement. The acquisition is for USD 35 million, it added.

Vardhman Health Specialties is a specialty products provider to hospitals in therapeutic areas of oncology, immunotherapy and virology. As per the statement released, both Aknamed and Vardhman are focused on building a robust hospital focused supply chain in India through the use of technology, data, high-quality infrastructure and scale, delivering value to hospitals, OEM partners and employees.

K Law advised Akna Medical Private Limited led by a team of senior partner Shwetambari Rao, associate partner Christopher Rao and associates Samiksha Sisodiya and Harshit Kumar. The due diligence team included senior associates Robin Quadros and Prasanna Swaminathan, associates Henal Shah, Kritika Rastogi and Jagat Pratap Singh Thakran along with company secretary Meghna Saini.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Vardhman Health Specialties in the deal and was led by partner Anand Jayachandran, principal associate Kriti Bhatia along with associates Nayana Dasgupta and Simran Jain.
