Khaitan, Vaish on $60m Shree Cement acquisition of Jaypee

Khaitan & Co advised Shree Cement in its $58.4m acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates’ Jaypee Grinding Unit. Jaiprakash was advised by Vaish Associates.

Khaitan Delhi competition partner Manas Kumar Chaudhuri and principal associate Trivikram Khaitan acted for Shree.

Vaish Delhi partner Martand Singh acted for Jaiprakash.

The acquisition was given the competition commission’s nod in November, reported moneycontrol.

Kian, you cover this deal which is worth $60 million and didn't have too many competition issues to worry about but don't cover Sun Pharma deal which is worth $4 billion and is a landmark order of the CCI?
