Burgers: They usually look better in the photo

Luthra & Luthra advised Indian private equity and real estate firm Everstone Capital in its joint venture with international fast food chain Burger King which was advised by AZB & Partners and Greenberg Traurig and Allen & Gledhill.

Luthra Mumbai partners Deepak THM and Gayatri Roy, managing associate Nirupam Lodha and associates Anshuman Mozumdar, Vidushi Gupta and Karishma Dodeja acted for Everstone on structuring of the transaction from a legal and regulatory perspective and also reviewed, negotiated and finalised deal documents.

AZB Bangalore partner Srinath Dasari and Mumbai partner Abhijit Joshi are understood to have acted for Burger King.

The arch-rival of the McDonald’s fast food chain has made its India entry through a long-term master franchise and development agreement with Everstone, as reported by the Economic Times. The WSJ reported that the company had not yet decided on whether it would offer beef burgers on its menu.

It was a play on the joke that the pictures of Burgers in fast food restaurants always look better than the floppy stale mess you eventually get served in a paper box.

In this case, I thought the picture looked much more realistic than appetising.

Did someone congratulate someone else on this as 'go Harvey Spector'? It's embarrassing to even read that comment. On a different note,has anyone noticed why Luthra and AZB are,now or in the past,rarely seen in the same transaction? Wonder why?
