Shardul Amarchand acts on $217.5m deal for Blackstone owned Marble II Pte Ltd

“Blackstone sells 8% stake in Mphasis for Rs 1,484 crore: US private equity major Blackstone has offloaded an 8% stake in Indian IT firm Mphasis at Rs 960 apiece to a clutch of investors, including new foreign funds T Rowe Price, Nomura and Oppenheimer.” reported The Times of India.

The stake sale saw Marble II Pte sell an approximate 1.54 crore shares for Rs 1484 crores, post which Blackstone’s holding in the company fell to 52%.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised Marble II Pte Ltd., a unit owned by Blackstone, led by a team of partner Raghubir Menon, partner Yogesh Chande, principal associate Anirban Bhattacharya, associate Taranjeet Singh and associate Kanwardeep Singh.

It was also reported that the block deal was strategically executed to create more liquidity in the stock and enable high quality long-term investors to participate in the Mphasis growth story.
