FoxMandal, Trilegal on $2bn Caparo/Gamesa wind turbines

Trilegal has acted for longstanding clients Caparo Energy on its contract with Gamesa Wind Turbines, advised by Fox Mandal Little (FML), for the supply, erection and commissioning of a 2000 MW of wind turbines for a consideration of $2bn.

Trilegal Delhi-based partner Charandeep Kaur along with counsel Neeraj Menon and associate Amar Narula represented Caparo Energy India Limited, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AIM-listed Caparo Energy.

FML partner Jeevanandham Rajagopal led for Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA.

The legal work entailed advice on all aspects of the multi-year contract including participating in negotiations with Gamesa Wind Turbines India and finalising the contract, said a Trilegal lawyer.

Trilegal had concluded a similar contract for Caparo with Suzlon Energy in January this year.
