India Law Services partner A G Karkhanis advised the lending banks in the Navayuga Quazignad Expressway project worth Rs 2,414 crore and the Abhijit Hazaribagh Toll Road with a project value of Rs 476 crore. Both projects closed in the past months.

Laware founding partner Rajat Malhotra and associate Abhishek Puri provided legal advice to the NHAI via an independent consultant.

Malhotra explained: “NHAI appoints financial consultants to help them through these projects during the conceptualisation stage and thereafter till the time of execution of the concession agreements and financial closure.”

Those financial consultants along with their chosen law firms would advise the government agency. Malhotra said that there were roughly seven major consultants that did most of the work for NHAI.
