All India Bar Exam 4 results available for some cities; Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyd tomorrow

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has begun uploading results for the fourth All India Bar Exam (AIBE).

Results are apparently available with roll number, application number or enrolment number at the following address on the official AIBE website:

According to the website, results for the following cities have been uploaded:

Aurangabad, Amritsar, Belgaum, Bhubaneshwar, Bilaspur, Bokaro, Dehradun, Guwahati, Imphal, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Panaji, Shimla, Ranchi, Nagpur, Patna, Nanded, Cochin, Coimbatore, Allahabad, Kolkata, Surat, Chandigarh, Trichy, Dharwad, Ahmedabad, Vishakhapatnam.

Results for Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai would only be uploaded tomorrow (26 January), according to the website. Several cities with test centres - Bangalore, Bhopal, Jaipur, Rajpur - were not mentioned on the website at the time of going to press.

A source with knowledge of the process said that results were being published on a centre-by-centre basis and that results for all centres should be available from tomorrow.

The AIBE site also states: “While preparing the result due care has been taken. However, any inadvertent error cannot be ruled out.” A few candidates’ results on the site appear to be withheld, with the note that: “If your result is ‘Result Withheld’ then it means your result is under consideration of the council.”

Folks, let's focus -

If you have successfully accessed your results, please post your exam centre and let others know if there was any "trick" to getting the system to work.

A large number of students have their results withheld. Kudos to BCI for consistently maintaining an amazing level of inefficiency. They continue to exasperate and prolong our agony.

I entered my enrollment number and received someone else's results.

Massive security breach alert: I just tested, and you can enter a random number and receive someone else's exam results. Just randomly put in "26/2012" and you will receive that person's results! So much for privacy.

And yet, I can't access my Bangalore results with the proper info entered.

i appeared from guwahati centre. My result is "pass" but some of my friends result is showing withheld. I asked them about how they fill the omr sheet. Most of them used whitener (corrector) pen on their omr sheet. Some of them forgot to fill the paper set.

Spoke with someone at the AIBE helpline who said the Bangalore results would only be uploaded from next Monday, nearly two months after the conduct of the exam.

LI is asleep on this. The AIBE website claims that the BLR results are up. The database is a mess. Young lawyers are hamstrung by their expiring temp sanads. Results are "withheld" for large numbers of test takers, without any disclosure. A two-line update and a terse "no comment" quote from the huffy and nonchalant BCI would allow LI the veneer of topicality and attentiveness. Maybe we need to read more enterprise stories about whomever Kian is lunching with in Bombay.

I reached the BCI on the general AIBE 0120 "hotline." None of the other lines worked for me. I waited through the hold music on 0120 on the theory that it would ring when the next available operator was available, and eventually someone picked up.

The AIBE website declares the Bangalore results available, while the AIBE operator said today circa 1130 am the BLR results would be available "from next Monday."

With BCI, one must always ask the classic cross examination question - "Are they lying now, or were they lying then?"

Has anyone actually received their Bangalore score as "pass" or "fail?"

I suspect many, many of the BLR scores, if not most of the BLR scores, are not actually finished but are being marked as "withheld."

I entered my candidate roll number, then alternatively subtracted or added one digit, and found at least 25 other KAR registrants whose scores were withheld. Two were marked pass. No fails yet. Seems a little fishy.
