The site, accessible at www.allindiabarexamination.com as notified by the BCI, sets out the basic requirements of the AIBE and claims that candidates can register for the exam online by uploading a photograph, signature and supporting documents, after creating an account.
The deadline for applications is 25 October 2012, according to the site, but details for offline applications have not yet been published.
The application fees for first time AIBE takers are set out on the website as Rs 1,900 plus State Bank of India charges of Rs 50. Those who have registered for a previous AIBE and would like to retake the exam, would have to pay Rs 1,400 plus Rs 50 of bank charges.
For the last AIBE, the fees were only Rs 1,300 for first-timers and Rs 900 for repeat exam takers, which netted the BCI and Rainmaker around Rs 6.9 crore over three AIBEs, with around 70 per cent going to a private contractor.
Two senior BCI members did not respond to calls seeking comment or were not reachable for comment at the time of going to press.
The new website was built by ITES Horizon Pvt Ltd, which was selected by the BCI in September after ditching the previous contractor Rainmaker and eschewing other applicants under a tender.

The “projects” and “clients” sections on its website dealing with the company’s prior work were not accessible at the time of going to press.
Earlier this year the BCI passed a resolution allowing graduates who have not yet passed the AIBE to practice in courts for six months, provided they give an undertaking.

Can we ever forget & forgive our bar elders.
To practise law is a right of every law graduate who chooses to join the bar. He pays approx. 10000 in State Bar Councils for enrollment.
I wonder how this funny exam - a 100 marks/100 questions, Objective Type Paper, Open Book exam with difficulty a little above law entrance level can judge a law graduate's eligibility to practice.
Law graduates across the country need to think and those sitting in BCI headquarters including Adv. Manan Kumar Mishra need to ponder that did he himself or his colleagues wrote an eligibility test to practise law in Patna HC or elsewhere?
This joke should stop. Law graduates can do a mass boycott ( a satyagrah) by not filling a single form in one exam and this AIBE joke will stop.
After paying around Rs. 8000-10,000 for State Bar Council registration, law graduates are being forced to shell out additional Rs.2000 for the AIBE.
Does conducting this exam cost this much? And that too when the freshers are not earning anything.
Any normal competitive exam does not cost more than Rs. 500-1000. And remember - the BCI is not giving any study material this time like they gave the last time.
Making profit at the cost of non-earning freshers should stop.

The LI reporting appears to presume the genuiness of the site, but the verified link between BCI and this site is not yet established. At least, it has not been reported by LI.
Look, we're going to have to chase the BCI and these ITES newbies if these poor kids are going to get their licenses this year. If we have to crowdthrash BCI and "ITES" into a few moments of lucidity so they can hold the exam, so be it.
And yes, I am claiming credit for originating "crowdthrash." Def.: "crowd-sourced pressure for a particular political, economic or social result rather than general derogation or acheivement of multiple goals."

Shame on BCI for subjecting students to this circus and making an ass of themselves. Shame on BCI for making us the butt of jokes outside india. Shame on them for not doing a damn thing to regulate the sector well, rein in Biglaw, formulate a plan on FDI in law and promoting a bunch of law colleges under the guise of 'NLU'.
