Breaking: The second All India Bar Exam (AIBE) has been postponed by one month to 24 July, to avoid a clash with other exams and encourage further applications.

The AIBE, which was slated to take place on 26 June following the completion of the first exam in most states except Chennai on 6 March, would be held on 24 July said the Bar Council of India (BCI) today in a press release.

It explained: “The BCI has received various requests from candidates/SBCs to postpone the next AIBE to allow for more candidates to take the AIBE and allow certain candidates to appear for various judicial examinations to be conducted across the country.”

The registration deadline for the second AIBE will be 24 June, according to the BCI.

Practice certificates

Candidates who passed the first AIBE and are still waiting for their certificates of practice would receive these by the end of this Month, added the BCI:

Certificates of Practice for all candidates who successfully cleared the AIBE held on March 6, 2011 are currently being despatched and will be available for collection from the concerned SBCs (where the candidate is enrolled) from May 30, 2011 onwards. Candidates are requested to collect their certificate of practice from the SBC and to contact the SBC for the same.

Note: Certificates of Practice will not be provided for any candidates who have not provided the BCI with proof of their enrolment with an SBC as well as candidates who had provided incorrect DDs etc.– any candidates that have not yet done so are requested to send across the same to the BCI urgently. Candidates are also requested to look at the list of application discrepancies and data mismatches that have been put up on the BCI website.

delay after delay...i really want to ask BCI officials--aren't you fed up of delaying everything..just about EVERYTHING? why do u keep announcing dates for everything in respect of the AIBE from time to time only to end up making some more announcements later on to prove how bad u are at managing affairs? nahi hota toh just give up guys! or just decide amongst yourselves once and for all exactly "when" something is to be done.

I suggest you give up writting here as it is of no consequence, nobody bothers. I remember a host of writings during the first AIBE a lot of sense was put up by different viewers, nothing at all happend just dont waste time. If your rights are violated file a petition in the competent court a real experience and followup the matter. You are a law grad. after all. All the best.

what bul****. I was flying back after my LL.M. only for this exam, and had paid the fees. And now these nincompoops say its postponed. Its not a backyard barbecue than can be postponed whenever.

I mean they should have informed this earlier. Why now, one month after the registration began. This is very frustrating and highly incompetent on the BCI's part. But who am I kidding? GS will do whatever the hell he wants. Kian, really, is there a way to get some message across to the BCI?

This might be good for fresh graduates since their results have just come in and registration with State Bar Councils takes a substantial amount of time.

at the time of this post, its 1st June. any updates on the despatch of certificates? i couldn't find anything on the BCI website. they were supposed to do it by 30th May. our results were out on 19th March..

hey does any of you remember..when the AIBE details were announced initially in June last year, the website said certificates would be despatched within a month of declaration of results.. does any BCI offical remember anything of this sort?

anyway..any update on the despatch guys?

i called Maharashtra State Bar on 30th May. i was told they haven't received the certificates. i called BCI. they said that it was dispatched on Saturday and that i could check with the State Bar on Tuesday. I called today (1st June). State Bar says that signatory is not available and certificates cannot be issued until next week. tak gayiiiiiii.

After passing ll.b degree from law colleges students are entitled to enrol as advocates as per rules & provisions. 99.99% students are agreed & satisfied with this opinion. Senior select, study, learn, public relation develop, involvement of social work, poor suffering, victims loser have to provide relief. How it be possible? Now sit for all india bar exam against 99.99% students
