Law ministry passed to ex Karnataka CM Gowda in BJP reshuffle

Ex Karnataka chief minister and former railways minister DV Sadananda Gowda has become the latest minister of law and justice in the first major cabinet reshuffle of the new government, following telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who held the law portfolio from 26 May 2014, reported PTI.

Gowda will not hold any other ministry portfolios.

Just two lines on such a major story? Please do a proper story on Modi's lack of vision for the law ministry and why he appointed such a useless guy. Also, what will this guy understand about liberalisation?

For what it's worth, they did do the NJAC... (well, Jaitley did, anyway).

Law portfolio continues to be ugly stepchild / that no one in government wants or cares about, it seems.

Which perhaps makes sense: there's little glory in it, only a lot of failure and an ever-piling up pendency mountain...

Mr Sadanand Gowda was a Lawyer himself who practised for nearly twelve years before entering into Politics which includes him being the Assistant Public Prosecutor in Magistrate Courts. I do not think that Mr. Gowda has practised in the Higher Courts and it would be interesting to know what his vision would be on the Indian Judiciary
