Punj Lloyd Infrastructure head legal Amit Gupta has joined Vikram Solar as head of its legal and business and corporate affairs function.

Gupta commented in a press release by the company that he had respected Vikram Solar “as an outsider in the industry for many years” and was looking forward to joining.

Gupta had at Punj Lloyd Limited and its subsidiary Punj Lloyd Infrastructure from 2010, after nine years in Paramount Communications legal team.

He is a 2005 Delhi University law graduate, who is also a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and holds a Master’s degree in finance management and 1998 bachelor in business administration from Pondicherry University.

Vikram Solar CFO Rajendra Kumar Parakh commented in a press release: “I’m confident that his appointment will result in enormous value addition to the organization and he will make significant contribution towards our growth path.”

Kolkata-headquartered Vikram Solar is a manufacturer of solar modules and rooftop solar and engineering, procurement and construction solutions that was founded in 2006.

In 2014-15 it had revenues of Rs 620 crore (around $91m), and according to its release has current annual solar module production capacity of 1 GW.
