Cognizant Technology Solutions Asia Pacific (APAC) region general counsel GV Anand Bhushan has quit the company to move to another company as in house counsel.

Bhushan, who declined to comment when contacted by Legally India on Friday, is currently serving his notice period at Cognizant according to authoritative sources.

After the notice period is over he is slated to join another listed company, the sources added.

In 2007, he was the first person to join Cognizant’s legal department, and by 2013 he had built it up to a team of 70 people, he said in a 2013 interview with Legally India.

Bhushan graduated with an LLB from Dr Ambedkar Law University Tamil Nadu in 2002, and an LLM as a Fulbright scholar in corporate and cyber laws from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in the US. He practised independently for five years, when he was a consultant for companies Bharatmatrimony, Jaya TV, Aurofood, SAAG RR Infra, and FL Smidth, until joining Cognizant in 2007.

Wonder if his second in command will be apac gc or move with him.

The news in the grapevine is that his second in command has already been made a GC of APAC region also there are rumors that he's joining CAM as a partner for Chennai office.

Cognizant has finally closed the matter for its bribery matters.
"In its 2017 annual report, Cognizant said it had identified about $6 million in bribes paid from 2009 to 2016. The company said it had spent about $60 million related to the investigation into the bribes."
