JP Infra gets new GC in ex-Hammurabbi partner Vidya Adsule, after brief stint as Kolte Patil GC

Kolte Patil Developers group general counsel Vidya Adsule has joined the JP Infra group as its general counsel.

Adsule had joined Kolte Patil in Pune late last year after leaving Hammurabbi & Solomon where she was a partner.

She said that she moved to JP due to her need to relocate to Mumbai for personal reasons.

At JP she will be restructuring the in house legal team which currently has five people: Two lawyers with over 15 years of experience, two junior lawyers and one paralegal.

“I will be setting up the department and making policies and processes for the legal function, will be hiring the legal team and will segregate work into litigation and non-litigation and allocate to the team,” she commented.

“It’s a growing company with ambitious expansion plans,” she added.

She said that Kolte Patil’s in house team is not headed by a new GC at the moment as the company is outsourcing major work to local law firms on a piecemeal basis.

After all the news about Corporate and M&A deals, the Shroffs saas bahu saga and how Juris is hanging on but not shutting down, which generally dominates these pages it's good to hear about news related to other practise areas. Young grads need to know that there is a world apart from the above. Prachi, well done, though not very significant news but a very refreshing read.
