PDS Legal partner Deepak Chopra will join AZB & Partners in Delhi as a partner and the head of its tax litigation practice, according to a press release from the firm.

Chopra has 26 years of experience in tax litigation, according to AZB’s statement, acting “before the Supreme Court ofIndia, High Courts and benches of the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) pan India as well as theAuthority for Advance Rulings (Income-tax) (AAR)”.

The AZB release added that he would “provide our tax team the ability to provide full pro-active support for tax litigation intax fora all over the country and add additional depth, experience and expertise to our existing advisory,transactional and litigation support practice. Additionally, consistent with how our practice groupsoperate, Deepak will also be working closely with our litigation and competition teams across all theoffices.”

Before he joined PDS, he was a senior standing counsel for the income tax department in the Delhi high court.
