CAM leavers Harry Chawla, Niti Paul are setting up Atlas Law Partners • Target 20 headcount by next year

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Delhi partners and husband and wife team Harry Chawla and Niti Paul, who were first reported to be leaving in September, are “in the process of setting up our new firm” under the name Atlas Law Partners, Chawla told Bar & Bench.

Update: Paul told us that would start with around 8-10 lawyers, intending to grow to around 15 to 20 by next year.

Chawla and Paul had joined Cyril Amarchand in 2015 from Kochhar & Co, having previously been at Amarchand Mangaldas Delhi.

Bono "still haven't found what I am looking for". It is better to find what makes you happy than just hang around where you're not. Hope they find what they are looking for.

Excellent move by this star couple. There is very limited growth in promoter driven firms like CAM and AZB. SAM Mumbai has evolved somewhat of a democratic structure which is yet to be tested. But I think the Chawlas will thrive and may eventually merge with a foreign law firm.
