Does that mean 10% of the Partner Designates in Mumbai did not get promoted?

Amita was made a partner in 2012 before she left for Stanford in 2013. Re-admission, albeit in a new practice area.

Bit odd that Amita, a corporate lawyer does her MBA and comes back as a disputes partner? I thought partners are meant to be real specialists and clients pay for experienced specialisation.

So what will they be making now?

These are all excellent home grown partners and does credit to the firm. Also seems bit more balanced than the indiscriminate promotions at Khaitan which really undermined the purpose. Kian most of these are partner designates announced last year . Except Amita. So this must mean the new promotions for 2016 are yet to follow . Can you please check and confirm from cam. As a cam observer I think they will do one more round later

Amita was and is a rock star . She will do well in any practice. Better than any sammie at delhi or Mumbai . She will excel, and Cyril is no fool to take her back.

Or she wanted something less strenuous (than M&A) after coming back from her MBA, and CAM was fine with her handling their nearly dead Mumbai disputes practice...
