Facebook, Diageo, BVI lawyer Chetan Nagendra to start own Bangalore firm

Chetan Nagendra, a former in-house lawyer at Facebook, has set up a start-up law firm in Bangalore, reported Bar & Bench. Nagendra graduated from NLSIU Bangalore and had previously also worked as an associate at Amarchand Mangaldas for three years, followed by a stint as regional counsel at Diageo, India.

He later moved to head the India desk at offshore law firm Harney Westwood & Riegels in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and was at Facebook overseeing legal and compliance in the Asia Pacific region.

He said that he wanted to build an internationally focused law firm in Bangalore, focusing corporate advice for companies and fast-expanding global startups. [Bar & Bench]

This story never claimed to be anything more than a quick summary. Feel free to click through to the original.

We're merely trying to keep readers informed, which is more than can be said for the Dailymail...

I have worked opposite this guy ... It is amazing how anybody and everybody is setting up law firms in India currently ... it is like the pool parlours coming up at every street corner in the late 90's. Nevertheless, credit to him and wish him good luck!
