Indus, CAM on Canadian Solar buy in Suzlon solar projects

“Canadian Solar Inc. and China’s Unisun Energy Group bought 49 per cent stakes in solar projects being developed by Suzlon Energy,” reported Mint.

IndusLaw partner Avirup Nag, principal associates Abhishek Bhalla and Ray Vikram Nath, and associates Rohan Ghosh and Niyati Bhatt acted for Canadian Solar and also advised the Project special purpose vehicles in negotiating and finalizing the EPC and O&M contracts with Suzlon for development and operations of the Projects.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) partner Ajay Sawhney and senior consultant Ashish Vats acted for Suzlon.

Why the bias on reporting only CAM deals. Why not the first solar IPO out of India?

This was actually an IndusLaw press release... Also interesting from a CAM perspective, since it's the first reported CAM deal of Ajay Sawhney, since he joined there.

Which solar IPO did we not report? Who were the parties on it?

If CAM is doing more deals than your firm, what's the harm in having such reported and published by LI.

This is not the correct news. These are 3 transactions, which you have mixed into one. CAM Delhi based Partner Ajay Sawhney and Senior Consultant Ashish Vats were common on all 3 transactions advising Suzlon, Canadian solar (which invested in two Suzlon projects) was represented by Indus Law and Unisun Energy, Hong Kong invested in one project which was represented by Trilegal. Neeraj Menon with Moksha Bhat, Amar Narula, Arjun Shiv and Astha Srivastava from Trilegal.
