Working on it but they are 75 associates or so who have risen to various levels in the designate/principal/etc pyramid.

This is important promotion as JSA does not have multiple level between SA and partner. Next promotion is partner in JSA. AMSS is making associates languish long years between SA and Partner with all this designate and PA business. AMSS should learn from JSA.

Yes, to an extent they have. Also, with continued fragmentation and subsequent growth of firms like Platinum, Pheonix, etc., the salary structure has changed. Also, the pay scales across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore has also changed.

One instance - money that a 3PQE lateral makes in AMSS Delhi and Mumbai is almost double than their counterparts in Kolkata, Amhedabad, Bangalore or Chennai. Yet, at the end of the day its AMSS.

A city-wise horizontal and vertical survey would actually help and bring more clarity. Also, study based on freshers, 3-4 PQEs, 5-7 PQEs segments and a horizontal divide across offices of the same firm would be interesting to read.

Well, this sarcasm yet shows your lack of knowledge about legal market in India. Though we never know about DSK and its promotions or work, Desai & Diwanji is one of the top M&A and Project Finance firms in the country and a decent practice in all other areas. LI does cover Desai Diwanjis promotions generally.

You must be from one of those lesser known 5th 6th tier law firms with no idea about the legal market.
