Jyoti Sagar’s K&S promotes 4 to equity partner, gets new patents chair

J Sagar Associates’ (JSA) intellectual-property-sister firm K&S Partners has promoted four to equity partner level:

  • Dr Goutam Bhattacharyya was promoted in the patents group,
  • Dr Deepa Tiku also in patents,
  • Sanjeev Tiwari in litigation, and
  • Priya Rao in trademarks.

Jyoti Sagar, who retired from JSA’s partnership that he founded in 2013 but continues as managing partner of K&S, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome next generation partners in our continuing effort of institution building and to be future ready.”

K&S patents pracctice chair Calab Gabriel has recently retired from the firm.

Ravi Bhola, who has been with K&S for 14 years, is the new chair of patents at the firm.

K&S consists of 9 equity and 14 retained partners, with a total headcount including partners of more than 100 across five offices.

In 2013 K&S promoted three to retained partner level, while in 2014 a total of 11 lawyers were promoted to retained partner level.

Unfortunate phrasing rather than error: "who retired from JSA’s partnership that he founded in 2013"

That's intended to mean that he retired in 2013 from the partnership he founded ;)
