If such a rule exists, maybe it's ok as she may not be employed by the law firm. Not employed but consultant

If SEBI employees join a intermediary registered with SEBI, then they need to obtain NOC of SEBI prior to joining them.

It's a different issue that, lawyers also behave like merchant bankers.

Good move Amarchand ! This is like sec officials joining law firms. Can be very useful for clients to get a risk assessment . Takes their practice to another level for sure. One of the most experienced hands. Will need to shed regulatory baggage though to be accepted by clients in real world .

Awesome appointment infact very smart and also a strategic fit in the Securities Practice, great training to the junior AM lawyers to learn how regulator functions and leverage from her vast experience & knowledge. Mr Shroff is always much ahead compared to his peers, and sets benchmarks for others to follow, unmatched. My best wishes to Mrs Narayanan.

ex-babus/madams, PSU officers, bureucrats are always a good catch for law firms - not so much for the knowledge they bring to the table but more for the contacts, liasoning and for getting the job done. I am also planning to recruit Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda to head my liasoning department.
But I don't have a HD tv in office :(
