FoxMandal Little Delhi’s senior real estate partner Saroj Jha has resigned. The news follows this week’s the resignation of five associates and the firm’s corporate head Vineet Aneja, with two senior associates set to join Aneja at Luthra & Luthra.

It is understood that Jha (pictured) is deliberating several options but has not yet decided where he will move.

Jha specialises in real estate transactions, having joined FoxMandal four years ago from Delhi-based firm Corporate Law Group.

The firm has confirmed Jha’s resignation but he declined to comment.

Jha resigned several days before FoxMandal Delhi’s corporate head Aneja quit to join Luthra & Luthra on Wednesday (23 September).

Five FoxMandal Delhi associates are also understood to have resigned on the same day.

Senior associates Surbhi Gupta and Mohit Sharma, who were part of Aneja’s team at FoxMandal, are due to join him at Luthra & Luthra.

FoxMandal’s Delhi office has experienced delays in paying salaries to staff and partners due to cash flow problems. The firm’s managing partner Som Mandal said that he hoped for the cash flow problems to get solved in the next three weeks.

I have worked with Saroj in more than one transactions, he has undoubtedly best skill set required for a real estate transaction both from legal angle and from commercial angle. A very hard negotiator. He was supported by a very good team. It is unfortunate that Fox losses him and his team. Harvinder, a senior associate in his team, again a very bright boy, has joined Hemant Sahai Associate and Abhishek Awasthi, who has great potential, i believe is joining a real estate Developer.

I wish whole of the team a very good professional life, and hope to work with you in near future.

Saroj I'd love to hear where are u joining!!

I beleive that the number of associates mentioned here is slightly off track. There have been more. But does Mr. Mandal realise that his people are leaving for no reason but money. A law firm's assets are its people and not the fixed assets. Without good people in a firm the fixed assets are of no use. Right now good people are leaving and I dont think any good person in any other firm would want to be associated with FM. So where does that leave FM.

Cmon [...] pay everybody what is their rightful due.

Well I have known Saroj for quite some time from his days at Corporate Law Group. Saroj is definitely one of the most dynamic and amiable guys you are likely to meet in any law firm. Added to that he has a knack of attracting clients. It will be interesting to see whether he joins another firm or a corporate house or chooses to go solo. Saroj's move would hurt FM since the real estate practice lead by him was flourishing before the recession. However, if FM manages to stay afloat it would not be long before it finds a suitable replacement for Saroj. FM has been going through some rough times but Som should be able to pull it off with his dynamism and vision.
