Tatva Legal partner Ekta Bahl has resigned the firm to join Samvad Partners to set up its Hyderabad office to extend “the reach of the firm to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana”, according to a press release from the firm.

The Hyderabad-based corporate lawyer and 1997-NLSIU Bangalore graduate who had joined Tatva in the mass-exodus from Dua Associates in 2010, is the 10th partner to join Samvad.

She specialises in corporateand commercial laws, with specific focus on corporaterestructuring, project finance, private equity and M&A according to the firm’s press release, and has worked for real estate, IT, biotech, education, healthcare, infrastructure and social sector enterprises.

In the press release she commented: “I’ve had six wonderful years at Tatva Legal. Our association goesbeyond these six years and will continue to do so. But, I think the time is right to takeon new challenges and explore new avenues with Samvad. I look forward to anexciting time in my new role.”

Samvad partner Poornima Hatti was not available for further comment at the time of publication. We have reached out to Tatva for comment.

Absolutely Superman. This is like chess. Samvad just took the queen from Tatva Legal and changed it to its home colour and placed it on the board (market). Smart move Samvad.
