ARA Law has hired K Law Bangalore-based associate partner Subharekha Ravi as co-head of its private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) practice.

The 2006 Nalsar Hyderabad graduate had previously worked with Wadia Ghandy for four years until 2010, then worked at IndusLaw and Wadia Ghandy, before joining Platinum Partners in 2015.

In April 2018 she had joined K Law as associate partner.

She specialises in advising private equity and growth funds and venture capital funds

ARA managing partner Rajesh Begur commented in a press release: “Her in-depth knowledge and varied experience in PE and VC space will contribute to the firm’s plans on expanding the business and taking it to the next level of growth.”

Ravi added that ARA was “known for its high-quality work” in the sector and planning for the firm to become “one of the most trusted and preferred corporate transactional advisors for PE and VC transactions in the country”.

Not sure if moving from a junior role in K Law to a senior role in ARA law is an upward step, especially in Bangalore. ARA is non existent and not sure if this hire will help them make inroads into a very tough market to crack.

Any role resulting in moving away from K law is great role.
