Economic Laws Practice (ELP) has expanded its direct tax practice, hiring chartered accountant and Dhruva Advisors partner Saumil Shah as a director in Mumbai.

He has joined with two Dhruva colleagues, Mitesh Chauhan and Juile Suryavanshi.

ELP managing partner Suhail Nathani commented: “We welcome Saumil and his team as we continue to grow our team of talented professionals to enhance our direct tax offerings to our clients.”

He specialises in direct tax and regulatory work, including advising on corporate and private equity transactions and corporate restructuring for domestic and foreign clients.

Before joining Dhruva in 2017, he was head of private equity tax and a partner at KPMG, and between 2007 and 2010 an executive director and later partner at PwC.

Around 2000 he had also worked at KPMG in the US, in its Silicon Valley offices.
