ELP finance partner Deep Roy leaves, destination TBC

Economic Laws Practice (ELP) Mumbai-based banking and finance partner Deep Roy has left the firm last week.

We have not been able to confirm where he will be moving to.

Roy declined to comment when contacted.

ELP managing partner Suhail Nathani commented: “We wish him well.”

Roy is a 2007 Symbiosis Law School alumnus, who began his career at ICICI Bank’s in-house team, before joining ELP in 2010.

He was promoted to full partnership at ELP in 2017.

Roy has been active in a wide variety of debt finance work and related regulatory work.

There goes another practice / office head. Will be interesting to see what happens at ELP post June this year - ~1.5yr since shift in strategy away from quality, high end work to high volume low end work.

Who is he? Is anyone interested in his move? Any movement other than in top 6 firms - does it matter??
