HSA promotes 2 to equity, 2 to partner, 2 to associate partner

HSA Advocates has promoted partners Harvinder Singh in Delhi and Nand Kishore in Mumbai to equity partner level.

Delhi’s associate partners Pragya Ohri and Mumbai’s Shahen Pradhan have been promoted to partner level, at which point they join the “partnership collegium”, according to the press release.

Principal associates Devika Chadha in Delhi and Kunal Rajpal in Mumbai have been promoted to associate partner level.

One senior associate has also been promoted to principal associate, while two associates were promoted to senior associate level.

HSA Advocates now has a total of 30 partners, of whom 10 are equity partners, making up around 80 fee-earners across its four offices.

Last year, HSA had grown to 34 partners after promoting four to equity, six to partner, and seven to associate partner.

this press release is nothing in comparison to the last one...may be the last year attrition just after promotions made HSA not to boast much.....any way nothing from their managing partner..how come....

Kian, hard to figure out the numbers. Do you mean to say that the firm has 80 fee earners which number includes 20 non-equity partners? Or would it be the case that the 80 fee earners includes both the equity and non-equity partners. Or does the 80 fee earners exclude all partners?

These numbers are interesting, lets assume that all partners (equity and non-equity) are included in the 80 fee earner count, that means each equity partner potentially has two non-equity partners reporting to him. In turn each non-equity partner has either 2 or 3 fee earners reporting to him or her. That is incredible. The firm must be a pretty lean set-up with great efficiency. How profitable are they? Any idea what the equity partners take home as profit distribution? These guys must be killing it!

The firm clearly puts great emphasis on being top heavy, which I am guessing is to ensure quality. However, with such a top heavy set-up why are they still placed so far below in the league tables. This doesn't make sense.

That is HSA's managing partner's learning and takeaway from KCO.

Congratulations to both the EPs. Very well deserved. Long overdue. Was disheartening to see two of you being ignored in the last round. If not anything else, at least your loyalty and commitment to the firm should have been recognized long ago.
