AZB & Partners has hired L&L Partners Mumbai corporate and infrastructure partner Aditya Periwal in its Mumbai office.
AZB has also internally promoted project finance and infrastructure partner Qais Jamal to partner.
Periwal had not responded to a request for comment two weeks ago.
Update 15:15: Periwal commented: “After almost 10 years at L&L, I have decided to move on. I look back with joy on all the highs we have been through.
“I thank all my colleagues for their support and collaboration. In particular I would like to thank Mr Luthra and Mr Saraf for their constant encouragement and mentorship. I am very excited for my new job at AZB and all I would like to say is thank you!”
With Periwal, and including Delhi-based Alina Arora’s resignation last month, around nine partner have left L&L’s corporate team since 2016.
L&L senior partner Mohit Saraf commented that a number of new partners were in the process of joining, adding that the corporate team faced “no more exit as of now”. He also commented, regarding Periwal: “Aditya has decided to move for personal reasons. We value his contributions and wish him well for all his future endeavours.”
