US international law firm Milbank has hired NUJS Kolkata graduate Sarbajeet Nag as a partner in London from Allen & Overy (A&O), where he was a senior associate.

After graduating from NUJS in 2009, he had joined Allen & Overy as a trainee solicitor, qualifying as an associate in 2010.

In 2015 he had spent one-and-a-half years as an associate at Credit Suisse, before returning to A&O in 2016.

Nag will be joining its London office’s European leveraged finance and capital markets group. He specialises in leveraged finance and buyout transactions in the European market for private equity sponsors, investment banks and companies, according to Milbank’s press release.

Milbank chairman Scott A Edelman said in the release: “Sarbajeet is a go-to person for complex debt financings for private equity sponsors, investment banks and corporates, and his experience fits very well with our London team and our client base.”

Milbank London co-managing partner Suhrud Mehta added: “Sarbajeet is highly respected for his experience advising on premier pan-European and transatlantic leveraged finance transactions.”
