Phoenix boosts Delhi disputes, hires KSP partner Debarshi Dutta plus 2

Phoenix Legal has hired Khaitan Sud & Partners partner Debarshi Dutta with senior associate Riddhi Sancheti, according to authoritative sources.

Dutta joined Phoenix in April as a counsel in the Delhi litigation practice. He had been promoted to Khaitan Sud partnership a year ago.

He specialises in litigation and arbitration and commercial disputes and is a 2006 graduate of Calcutta University, having also practiced at the original side of the Calcutta high court.

Khaitan Sud & Partners did not respond to an email seeking comment.

It is understood that Phoenix has also hired 2009-Nalsar graduate Archisman Chaudhary in its Delhi litigation team. He had previously worked at ALG in Delhi and Poovayya & Co in Bangalore.

The majority of litigation at Phoenix is handled by by Mrinal Ojha and Trinath Tadakamalla, who joined recently.

I sometime wonder how does Kian manages to get all these information of inter firm movements. Who are these authoritative sources? Riddhi and Archisman, both hv joined as associates.

Mrinal and Trinath aren't litigation-lawyers, per se. They are insurance law specialists, who work on contentious matters that are relevant to the insurance industry. They always have a litigation lawyer like Debarshi on their retainer, who is thorough with original side practice and procedure, on whose shoulders they rely upon for everything that is remotely lit.
