Mumbai private equity boutique ARA Law has promoted two principal associates, Rowena De Sousa and Avik Karmakar, to salaried partner level.ARA founder and managing partner Rajesh Begur said in a press release: “These promotions are an extension of the firm’s vision of offering the best in quality to our clients and our desire to continuously expand and grow the team.”

The release stated:

Rowena is based out of our Mumbai office and her practice areas include Private Equity, Venture Capital, Mergers & Acquisitions and general corporate advisory. Rowena earned her BGL, LLB (Hons) from VM Salgaocar College of Law, Goa and has been associated with ARA LAW since 2007.

Avik is based out of our Bangalore office and his practice areas include Private Equity, Venture Capital Funding, Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and general corporate and commercial law advisory. Avik earned his BSL, LLB from ILS, Law College, Pune and has been with ARA LAW since 2011.

The firm now has four partners, Begur told Legally India.

How much would the salary be of these new partners? Just trying to get hold of market standards and variations between Big Law and the rest.
