Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas has hired Link Legal India Law Services projects and project finance partner Shashwat Kumar as a partner in Delhi.

He had joined Link Legal in 2016 and was promoted from associate partner to partner in 2017.

Kumar is a 2006 Delhi University graduate who had begun his career at J Sagar Associates (JSA), followed by AZB & Partners in Delhi between 2008 and 2014, a one-year stint at Dua Associates, 9 months at PDS Legal until 2016.

He specialises in advising public sector companies and multinationals in the infrastructure sector on regulatory and policy issues.

Managing partner Pallavi Shroff commented in a press release: “The firm has a robust projects and project finance practice. Shashwat’s addition to the team will help us further enhance our expertise and bench-strength to deliver value to our clients.”

Kumar said: “This opportunity comes with enormous responsibility and I am confident of creating value both for the firm and its clients.”

Well done! Though this is very strange - thought you were the permanent secondee to soft bank, having spent last 3 years physically at soft bank office, doing normal in-house stuff while tier 1 firms got all the mandates from soft bank. Is SAM trying to make inroads into soft bank with this? get in the Q as CAM and Trilegal have head start there.

Link Legal is either in news for partners leaving, same old clients doing work with same old partners.
The whole associate team is refreshed almost every 2 years.
They have great potential but seems everybody is roving their own canoe.
Sad to see this.
