VoxLaw, the firm started up in 2012 by former Economic Laws Practice associate partners Ritesh Kanodia and Udayan Choksi with former Bharucha & Partners senior associate Amey Nargolkar has merged with former KPMG deputy DEO Dinesh Kanabar’s two-month old start-up Dhruva Advisors.

Choksi said: “VoxLaw started with a specialisation in indirect taxes and dispute resolution. The firm has grown in allied areas and we now advise clients on regulations like competition law, real estate and the like. As we build towards the next level of growth our association with Dhruva will help us attain our potential. We look forward to working with Dinesh and his team.”

VoxLaw is three partners and 20 lawyers strong while Dhruva Advisors brings five partners and 50 lawyers to the merged firm Dhruva Vox.

VoxLaw had offices in Delhi and Pune and Dhruva operated out of Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Kanabar said: “Our association with VoxLaw is complementary and gives us significant capabilities in indirect taxes, tax litigation and corporate laws. It also gives us a footprint in Delhi and Pune. We can now say that we are a full service tax and regulatory organisation with pan India presence.”

Kanabar left KPMG in September 2014 after a four year stint with the consultancy firm, before which he was deputy CEO at RSM & Co - a boutique tax advisory firm which later merged with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), reported the* Economic Times*. At PwC he was heading the tax and regulatory practice before moving to KPMG.
