NUJS Kolkata former acting registrar Madhumati Mitra will be joining the Calcutta high court as a judge alongside five others, according to the Supreme Court’s collegium resolution, after having recently resigned from the law school having completed a little over two months in her post, as we had reported.
She had declined to comment at the time.
Mitra had been recommended alongside one advocate and two other judicial officers, in November 2017, to join as a judge at the high court but the high court had deferred the four appointments after receiving objections to these recommendations.
But the Supreme Court collegium eventually advised the high court that the objections were baseless and that the four recommended judges should be appointed to the high court in order of seniority.
Mitra was the second acting registrar at NUJS after Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan and according to several sources at the law school at the time.
West Bengal additional district judge Sikha Sen has succeeded Mitra as acting registrar at NUJS.

c. Recruitment scams since 2012. You hate the SJA for bringing that up, don't ya. Three recent coven recruits could face an uncertain future here, if the scam is seriously investigated. But you have Lord Taluk here too. So why worry?
d. [...] plunders NUJS as if there is no tomorrow. But you kept quiet and hushed up matters. I guess that luxury comes easy when you and your coven enjoy the spoils.
So the next time you point your filthy finger at others, remember what your teachers taught you at school.
1. Bossman will stay on for 1 year (50% over already). Will work out an arrangement where he can return as a chair professor or clinical professor, as would like some post-retirement benefits.
2. Rather Particular will take over the chair in 2019, a month or two before the new session starts. Will have full backing of SJA and recent alumni. Will be furiously opposed by older alumni (who nearly got him sacked when he first joined) but they are far away from the action and too busy with their work to care beyond a point.

Kangaroo courts will continue to be convened. Spoils will be enjoyed by the Justice League and their acolytes. Injustice League and dissenters shall be shred. The SJA will survive as they learn to serve true Justice; the one that truly matters. This (not so) great taluka, it will endure. NUJS will survive
If you have a Rather Particular problem with plagiarism, I don't care. He doesn't. Lord Taluk doesn't. You know who I am and where I sit. Proximity to power has not made me delusional. I am the Power.
1. The Acting VC and new administration are doing a stellar job. Remember that NUJS was plundered and ruined for 7 years under a dictator. Reconstruction of the college and a return to its former glory will taken 8 to 10 years at least. It has just been a few months. Even in this small period many improvements are happening.
2. The same people who caused the 7 year plunder are complaining. Please ignore them. They are enemies of NUJS.
3. It is such a joke that on the one hand some students complain of absence of so-called good faculty, which for them usually means alumni of NLUs/foreign universities, or people with experience, good publications etc. But when such people are brought the students show no interest.
