BU to spend Rs 4 Lakh on post-rape vigilance at NLSIU campus

Bangalore University (BU) will create two campus-security related committees and provide security equipment such as 100 CCTV cameras, spending around Rs 3.82 lakh on the Jnanabharathi campus - on which NLSIU Bangalore is situated.

The measures follow the alleged rape of a student of NLSIU Bangalore last month on the campus. BU had earlier reacted by threatening NLSIU authorities and students with eviction from the campus, immediately after the incident was first reported. [Deccan Herald]

Has there been any follow-up on the administrators at BU regarding their disgusting statements about "keeping the students of NLS disciplined" because they DARED to be out at 9 pm inside their own campus? Just curious

Why can't NLS spend some money ? Isn't it a University itself ? Amd why does it have to wait for BU to do such things.

Because the rape happened, and the security issue is with the BU campus, not NLSIU. NLSIU is at the beginning of BU.
