HNLU places 61 out of 146 LLB grads this year in law firms, companies, LPOs, but mostly in the state legislative department

HNLU Raipur placed almost half of its LLB 2016 graduate class – out of 146 graduates, 10 sat for campus placements and 61 accepted law firm, in house legal department and LPO offers. Seven graduates got jobs with four of the Big 7 law firms.

Three were selected to fellowships and five accepted LLM and MBA seats with foreign universities.

The Chhatisgarh law ministry, which for the last several years has been HNLU’s biggest recruiter by a huge margin, yet again absorbed 16 graduates. It was followed by LPO Quislex which absorbed eight graduates.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB Partners each took two graduates, Khaitan hired one.

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan gave out the highest number of jobs after the law ministry and Quislex – three graduates joined the firm.

Flipkart, JLFS and ICICI Bank were the only in house legal recruiters.

The 2016 batch marginally trumps last year’s recruitment performance in which HNLU graduates bagged 58 offers.

Kian and Prachi, you people need to stop your obsession with law firms and focus on other careers that can arguably be more enriching --- litigation, government and judicial service, think tanks, activism, academia etc. You are sending a terrible message to kids and parents that there is no career beyond law firms. I suggest you visit superlawyer.in and learn about the diverse careers people are pursuing.
