Nalsar Hyderabad has placed 39 out of 81 students with confirmed jobs after its Day Zero of recruitment on 11 and 12 April.
According to a press release from the college, 31 students sat for Day Zero recruitments in a batch of 81, resulting in 21 accepted offers on Day Zero, in addition to 14 PPOs and the first reported 2016 foreign law firm training contracts so far.

The committee commented in an email:
We are immensely pleased to announce that over 50% of the students of our batch - with 39 jobs and 3 vacation schemes at reputed foreign law firms - now have job acceptances. We would like to thank our Vice Chancellor and our professors for granting premier legal education to our batch, without which this would not have been possible. We would also like to thank our alumni who helped us in our Day Zero preparations as well as our senior RCCs which guided us at every step. Finally, we also extend our deepest gratitude to the recruiting entities for considering our able candidates and helping us successfully kick-start our recruitment season.
However, the students of the Batch of 2016 from NALSAR follow a diversity of interests and passions and thus many of them aspire to pursue a varied range of career interests in litigation, corporate houses, judicial clerkships, policy-making, research and academics, and so on. Thus, while 31 students sat for Day Zero in this month, the RCC shall continuously endeavour to call and host all other kinds of recruiters for our students and aim for a highly successful end to this recruitment season.

NUJS Kolkata secured 40 jobs for its fourth years, NLSIU Bangalore’s Day Zero this year yielded 33 jobs and 4 vacation schemes, while NLU Delhi secured 20 jobs and 4 vacation schemes, NLIU Bhopal got around 22 jobs, GNLU Gandhinagar 24 jobs and NLU Jodhpur hauled in 31.

Using the 39 figure gives Nalsar advantage of waiting 7-ish days since its Day Zero before releasing, though not sure if that should matter a great deal but for completeness sake think 35-39 is fairer.
It's kinda a very technical and tiny difference, but since we're talking Day Zero maybe it's best to talk on a level playing field at least...

Basically look at the top 5 Day zero figures, and ask the RCCs to tell you how many offers each firm made at each place, and how many of those were accepted. Factor in what jobs the people who had more than one offer took to determine favourites (for example, Luthra probably made more offers than SAM, but people who had a choice between the two likely took SAM, so more people picked Luthra, but SAM is probably more popular)
Add a percentage of students placed out of those who expressed an interest in a job (sat for ppos or day zero) and you'll get who is the favourite law school for law firms, and who are the favourite firms for law schools.
My guess is that it will be NLS, NALSAR, NUJS, NLU D, NLU J and Foreign firms, CAM, SAM/AZB, Khaitan, JSA, Luthra
Since year-by-year it's variably difficult to convince RCCs to part with their figures and be transparent (read, sometimes it's like pulling teeth), strategically I think it's best if we don't ask for too much right now and cause upset across the board :)
I was wondering the same thing..I'll be giving CLAT this year and it'd be helpful to know that if I get into the tier-2 college like HNLU or RMLNLU,then what would be the kinds of companies or firms recruiting.
Given this, isn't it really misleading to be including jobs accepted at ICICI, etc., in any count? Of course they should count towards a final tally, but placing 4 students at ICICI cannot be equated to 4 students at AZB or CAM, can it? Doing a "this college placed 35 students and the other college placed 33 students" type analysis does that a bit. Maybe you could classify these jobs based on the classification you had created last year. At least then the numbers won't be puffed by being indiscriminate about who to call for day zero.
Kian could you please repeat the law recruitment salary comparison you did a few years back? It would probably help with such discussions. Remember that ICICI has always recruited from these schools (including mine - NALSAR) and a large number of people apply every year. Don't quite agree with the inclusion of Zehn though as they aren't nearly as established or sought after as ICICI.
And yes salary is insane.
